In our first game back for the new season AFC GH narrowly lost away to a very good and well drilled Portland side. After taking the lead twice through Marcus and Tanny only to be pegged back twice, AFC GH found themselves level at the break.

 

Portland came out of the blocks quicker and took the lead for the first time but Hoppers responded with an equalizer through Joe Willis. After a dubious penalty decision went against Hoppers Portland increased their lead before going further ahead making it 4-2 with 10 minutes to go. AFC GH were not in the mood to just roll over and instead took the game to Portland. With very little time left Sam expertly finished off a terrific free kick to make it 5-4 in the end.
