AFC Groundhoppers suffered their first defeat of the season against the always competitive Farnborough OBG. Since AFC GH were established 5-years ago games against Farnborough have only ever been settled by the odd goal so we knew that this would be a hard game from the outset...

With no competitive fixture scheduled due to cup ties AFC Groundhoppers managed to arrange a friendly against AFC Balham who play in the Southern Sunday League, Tony Eldridge Championship Division. The idea was for us to continue our momentum from last weeks victory but as kick-off loomed and only eleven men emerged from the dressing room it was starting to look like not such a good idea after all....

Last years Division One champions Ex-Blues arrived at Sydenham Sports Club full of confidence after only one official league defeat in three and a half years.
AFC Groundhoppers knew that nothing but a strong performance would be enough to guarantee a victory on the opening day of the season...

AFC Groundhoppers Seal Promotion

AFC Groundhoppers finished 3rd in the Orpington and Bromley District Sunday League Football Division One behind undefeated champions Ex-Blues and Greencourt FC. All three sides along with fourth placed Farnborough OBG have all been promoted to the Premier Division next season.
